ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Matilda a dietitian registered with the British Dietetic Association and I have a Master’s degree in Dietetics. As an experienced dietitian I am able to provide assessment, treatment and ongoing support for a multitude of health conditions

 

I have worked in several clinical settings (including acute, community settings, care homes and mental health) supporting individuals to improve their health through nutritional intake. I do not prescribe, de prescribe, or advise on medication changes but I do support nutritional health alongside existing medical care. I am able to offer valuable support to people who are wanting to change their diet to better manage health conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and IBS and if appropriate safely and reduce reliance on medication (as agreed by their prescriber). I can also offer a wealth of support for people with a desire to manage their health and dietary intake improving their quality of life.

Dietitian's are the only nutrition professionals to be regulated which means I am governed by an ethical code to ensure I always work to the highest standard. I use a a collaborative, person centred approach that helps people find their own internal motivation to change behaviours.

We start by understanding your health history, your experience, and what you want to achieve. This helps us decide together whether this approach is right for you.

Before any change, we focus on making sure your body is well-nourished, supported, and stable. We help you build confidence and routine, reducing side effects and anxiety around eating.

If you and your prescriber decide to reduce any medication, I will support you nutritionally, helping you manage change such as appetite shifts and continue improving your health.

Development of long-term skills and appropriately reduced reliance on medication with the goal being confidence in managing independently. You can have optional check-ins as needed but you leave with the skills to manage your long-term health, knowing support is available if you need it.
